THE COMPANY

Pojazdy Specjalistyczne Zbigniew Szczesniak Sp. z o.o. is a family enterprise with located in Bielsko-Biała (Poland), which employs more than a hundred high-class experts in various fields and produces about one hundred special purpose vehicles per year, both for domestic and for foreign market.

Launching the production of the first fire engine in 1992, the founder of the company, Zbigniew Szczesniak, initiated the existence of the enterprise, which, in the initial phase of its operation, functioned as individual business under the name Budowa Pojazdow Specjalnych. Four years later, Zbigniew Szczesniak produced his first brand new fire engine, which, over the years, has transformed into a vast number of more than 1200 various types of vehicles that have left the plant. Initially, the company scored a success in the local market. In 2004, we commenced exporting activity, which substantially boosted the company’s development. For the time being, approximately 20% of the vehicles are exported, and fire engines with the Szczesniak logo are used not only in the European Union member states, but also outside, for example, in Algeria, Russia, Ukraine or Belarus.

The company’s history is marked by continuous and dynamic development – which is reflected in constant extension of the offer and more and more modern vehicles. Currently, these are mainly fire engines, but since 2009, the company’s offer has been also expanded by army vehicles, including the first ever armored wheeled technical protection vehicle produced in Poland, called “Mammoth.” Vehicles with the Szczesniak logo have numerous characteristics that distinguish them from competition: first of all, they are produced of highest-quality, corrosion-resistant materials and equipped with fittings and components supplied by the world’s leading manufacturers. Both the concept of the product offered and the production system itself are based on a patented system of modular fittings which enable a freedom to choose configuration of vehicles as early as in the initial phase of the project. As the sole manufacturer in Poland and one of the few manufacturers in the world, in the designing process the company uses high quality Catia software by Dassault, which, at the moment, is the leading-edge designing software used in automotive and aviation industry. In the development process of our products, we pay special attention to the requirements of our future Users. Our aim is to combine the needs of our future Users with leading edge technical solutions available in the market. This is why safety, reliability and high quality of the final product are our priorities. Another asset of the company, which is immensely important, is the construction, which, over the years, has been given a finishing touch and has been designed with the specific working conditions of the special purpose vehicles (especially fire engines) in mind. In our pursuit for perfection, our vehicles present an innovative and attractive form at a reasonable price.

We strive to obtain a leading position on the world’s market of special purpose vehicles, including fire engines and army vehicles. Moreover, we want to prove that a family enterprise, due to its flexibility and determination, is able to grow dynamically and compete with the market’s giants with a tradition reaching back a hundred years, even in the times of globalization.
